Single cask single malt from Islay's cracking Caol Ila Distillery, independently bottled by the ever-wonderful Douglas Laing. It was distilled in 2012 and allowed to age in a refill butt for eight years until 2020, when it was bottled at 46% ABV with an outturn of 797 bottles. This one shows off a great balance of classic Islay smokiness and stewed berry sweetness...
An indie Glenrothes, bottled up Douglas Laing for the Provenance series. This one was distilled back in January 2013 and left to age in a sherry puncheon for 7 years, before being bottled in February 2020. 428 bottles were produced, and they all feature a little salmon doing a jump on the label. That's wonderful.
A wonderful sherried Speysider, this single malt was distilled over at Speyburn. In October 2006 it was filled into a single sherry butt, where it rested for over a decade. In February 2019, Douglas Laing decided it was time to bottle the whisky at 12 years old, bottling it up at 46% ABV for the Provenance series.
It's Batch B1/22 of Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength here. Triple distilled in copper pot stills, from a combination of malted and unmalted barley, this single pot still Irish whiskey matured in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. Expect the classic, full flavoured Redbreast profile, but at a punchier cask strength of 58.1% ABV. One to cosy up with on a cold winter's day.

This single pot still Irish whiskey was initially matured in a combination of American and European oak casks for 9 to 12 years, before being transferred over to first fill Oloroso Sherry casks from Bodegas Lustau for a year.

Aromas of orange boiled sweets, liquorice, toast with honey and driftwood fill the nose, and the palate offers notes of butterscotch, peppery peat smoke, chocolate buttons and brown sugar. The label features the characters from Douglas Laing's regional malts, including Big Peat, the Scallywag, the Timorous Beastie, the Epicurean, the Rock Oyster and the spider from the Gauldrons, and part of the tube it comes with twists so that you can make them swap heads.

An excellent gin from Japan's legendary Suntory - Roku Gin. This expression is made using a selection of botanicals, including six Japanese botanicals that provide a whistle-stop tour of the four seasons. These include sakura leaf and sakura flower for spring, sencha tea and gyokuro tea for summer, sansho pepper for autumn and yuzu peel for winter. Traditional gin botanicals also featured include the likes of juniper, orange peel, lemon peel, coriander and cinnamon, among others.
